Dear Reader,
Dear Reader,
You should know that simplicity and I do not get on well. I like details, I like bleeding through the margins, I like sinking my teeth in. My ambitions, curiosities, and hobbies are abundant in an honest and systemic effort (à la Sylvia Plath) to “live and feel all the shades, tones and variations of mental and physical experience possible.” Though I could probably stand to share less tangential details during Storytime, my avoidant relationship with simplicity is not a flaw—it is an asset.
I live many lives due to this intense nature of mine. I have been a Wolverine, a Big 5 software engineer, a published first-author astronomer. Studied Spanish in Madrid, self-taught Adobe Creative Cloud, filmed weddings and seasons and in-between moments. There is a fig tree analogy somewhere shaking its fist at me, and I tip one of my many hats in return. But through it all, through the many lives and areas of knowledge, I make sure I adhere to the one through line: human connection.
Every one of these endeavors has been chock-full of learning, inspiration, and innovation. I would never have been able to, nor wanted to, do that alone. It is through other people that we get to truly grow: we create, we share, we chat and riff and teach, we collaborate, we build community. I am forever indebted to and enamored by what connection has done for the quality of my work and life. It is with that I know my professional devotion lies in promoting connection in the landscape where it is most alive and accessible: social media.
I am incredibly eager to apply my technical and creative skills to the social media space. Let’s work together to connect one another.
